    About VARIA Multi-Color Series

The VARIA series is LK's multi-color, multi-material precision injection molding platform, purpose-built for components requiring two or more distinct plastics or elastomers — such as PP, ABS, PC, and TPE — molded together in a single automated cycle. Built on over 40 years of LK engineering since the first Potenza series launched in 1989, VARIA's rotary table technology was proven at scale when LK's triple-color automotive light molding machine won the Hong Kong Industry and Commercial Award in 2013.

VARIA spans two distinct machine classes to match different production scales. The toggle multi-color models (VA130 to VA250) cover 1,300 to 2,500 kN of clamping force, suited for mid-size multi-color parts like dual-color eyewear frames, gaming peripherals, and electronic device housings. The heavy two-platen multi-color models (VA550 to VA1000) scale up to 10,000 kN, engineered for large multi-color automotive components such as tail lamp lenses, light guides, and dashboard trim panels that require both structural strength and multi-material precision.

At the core of every VARIA machine is a rotary table device using a high-load dual roller pin bearing for the main vertical shaft, driven by a high-torque hydraulic motor with proportional directional valve control for reliable indexing between mold stations. For applications requiring exact positional repeatability, an optional servo turntable synchronizes computer-tracked positioning with real-time table movement for rapid, precise micro-stop indexing — critical when molding tight-tolerance multi-color parts like automotive light assemblies.

VARIA's single-cylinder injection unit compresses response latency and improves shot-weight repeatability across multi-stage color shots, while low-friction linear guide rails on the injection crossbeam maintain axial stability through repeated cycles. Every VARIA machine is manufactured on premium heavy-duty CNC centers (Nicolas Correa, Mitsubishi, Okuma, Amada) and validated using Germany Renishaw laser measurement systems alongside continuous 6,500+ cycle non-stop simulated operation trials before leaving the factory.

VARIA machines serve automotive manufacturing (multi-color tail lamp lenses, light guides, dual-color dashboard elements), home appliances (washing machine pulsators, double-molded control frames, viewing ports), and consumer goods (gaming peripherals, dual-color eyewear frames, multi-material sealed food containers).

    Frequently Asked Questions

VARIA spans two classes: toggle multi-color models from 1,300 kN to 2,500 kN (VA130-VA250), and heavy two-platen multi-color models from 5,500 kN to 10,000 kN (VA550-VA1000).
VARIA uses a rotary table device that indexes molds between multiple injection stations, allowing two or more distinct plastics or elastomers (like PP, ABS, PC, TPE) to be molded together into one finished part in a single automated cycle.
VARIA machines are widely used in automotive manufacturing (tail lamp lenses, light guides, dashboard trim), home appliances (pulsators, double-molded control frames), and consumer goods (eyewear frames, gaming peripherals, multi-material packaging).
Yes, an optional servo turntable is available that synchronizes computer-tracked positioning with real-time table movement, delivering rapid and exact micro-stop indexing for tight-tolerance multi-color parts like automotive light assemblies.
Toggle multi-color models (VA130-VA250) are designed for mid-size multi-color parts up to 2,500 kN clamping force. Heavy two-platen models (VA550-VA1000) scale up to 10,000 kN for large multi-color automotive components requiring both structural strength and multi-material precision.
Every VARIA machine is manufactured on premium CNC centers (Nicolas Correa, Mitsubishi, Okuma, Amada) and validated using Germany Renishaw laser measurement systems plus continuous 6,500+ cycle non-stop simulated operation trials before shipping.
The VA1000 model supports a turntable maximum load weight of 7,000 kg with a turntable effective diameter of 1,668mm, suited for the largest multi-color automotive and industrial components.
